Gepanta 2013 Game 4 vs French Ordonnance

After three games I was quite satisfied by Inca performance. They proved so far quite tough when sticking to their doctrine. In the last game my opponent was a late French Ordonnance used by an aggressive player. The game would prove interesting.

As defender the terrain was good. I deployed the temple Bua on the far right, to cover an attack along that flank, and eventually to give my opponent the opportunity to try to exploit the good going letting me fight with support from the wood. The french attacked right there

Inca initial pips were very low, so I was quite slow to position my troops

On the left wing, Incas sent a flying column to threaten the enemy wing and force french to commit their reserve

After some turns I was able to commit more and more troops on the right. The french Lh were now in a dangerous position

On the left the french gendarms arrived to parry my outflank. I moved back hotly pursued by the KnS. Once these were far away, Incas attacked the enemy PsS in open going

RAxO performed well and pierced the enemy line. However the French did not collapse saving thei generals with some hot dice

French realized that the attack on the right was neutralized, and manouvered his cavalry in other sectors. Incas sallied against the pikes flank. Even losing all the combats, the attack disordered and stopped the french formation

French withdrew to save the commanders and waiting for the reinforcements arrival. French IBwO in the center were isolated. I needed few elements to destroy that corps, and open a huge gap in the enemy center. I was quite confident I would win this battle

The French fought well, repulsing all inca attacks. When time was called, the score was 14-11. A nice battle, with a lot of manouver and movement. I was satisified by having neutralized enemy RKnS that were out of the game. My opponent played aggressively, never giving up, and this made the game tense and fun.

With this battle my tournament was over. I finished at 64 points with the second score. Quite good. Again this proved that in DBMM all the armies are viable and competitive. All four games I played, I faced fourth period armies. Maybe next time I will use Incas in a medieval pool.
